Review of Club’s Rules and Regulations July 2010
In the review of the club’s Rules and Regulations in July 2010, the general committee has introduced the following change regarding renewal of club membership.
| "18. RULE 18 – MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL
18.1. The General Committee reserves the right not to accept a Member’s application for a renewal of membership, if that Member has not participated in at least one of the Club’s monthly medals in the twelve (12)months preceding the request to renew his/her membership.
18.2. A Member whose membership is not renewed under this Rule will be barred from rejoining the Club for the next twelve (12) months." |
This rule will come into immediate effect for all who joined the club on or after 01 July 2010. For members who joined before this date, this rule will come into effect from January 2011. This is to allow members who have not played in a club competition in the last six months, and intend to renew their membership in January 2011, an opportunity to play in a medal sometime in the next six months.
The committee will review appeals on a case to case basis, depending on the member’s circumstances, eg. extended overseas employment/studies.
This change is to allow members a greater affiliation to the club, and build camaraderie among members.

2010 GOLD MEDAL CHALLENGE QUALIFIERS
The winners at the club’s Annual Tournament and winners and runners-up of the monthly medals automatically qualify to play in the Gold Medal Challenge which is traditionally played in January of the following year.
However, if a winner/runner-up has already qualified for the Gold Medal Challenge in a previous medal, the next best performer will qualify. This is to give as many members as possible an opportunity to participate in the Gold Medal Challenge.

This Gold Medal Challenge will be played in early 2011. To partipate in the Gold Medal challenge game, all qualifiers have to be paid up current members of the club at the time of the game. A qualifier who is not a current member of the club cannot participate in club events.
